Oil Reset Procedure for Mazda CX-5 2012-2021

 

 

Easy to follow oil reset procedure for Mazda CX-5 for the year 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

 

 

 

Oil Reset Procedure for Mazda CX-5 for the year 2012 through 2017

1. Turn the ignition completely off.

2. Press and hold the small knob on the instrument panel.

3. Continue holding the knob while turning the ignition to the “ON” position.

4. Still continue to hold the knob for about 5 seconds until the warning light blinks.

5. Release the knob, and the “Oil Change” light on the Mazda CX-5 should no longer be illuminated. You may need to retry these steps if it didn’t work for you.

Oil Reset Procedure for Mazda CX-5 for the year 2014 through 2015

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Press the “UP” or “DOWN” part of the “INFO” switch to highlight “SETTINGS” and press “INFO”.

3. Scroll to “MAINTENANCE” and press “INFO”.

4. Scroll to “SCHEDULED” and press “INFO”.

5. Choose “SET TIME” or “SET DISTANCE” and press “INFO”.

6. Turn ignition off.

Oil Reset Procedure for Mazda CX-5 for the year 2012 through 2020

1. Press and hold the TRIP BUTTON with the ignition switched off, then switch it on. Keep pressing the selector for more than 5 seconds.

2. The master warning light will flash for a few seconds when the reset is completed.

NOTE:

The engine oil flexible maintenance setting is available (only some models). Based on the engine operating conditions, the onboard computer in your vehicle calculates the remaining oil life.

When the engine oil flexible maintenance setting is selected, the system must be reset whenever replacing the engine oil regardless of the wrench indicator light display.

1. Starting from the Home screen, select the “Applications” icon.

2. Select “Vehicle Status Monitor“.

3. Select “Maintenance“.

4. Select “Oil Change“.

About Mazda CX-5

The Mazda MINAGI concept car was the first Mazda vehicle to combine the company’s Kodo design language with its Skyactiv technologies. It was presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland. Its design was a sneak peek at what was to come with the CX-5.

The Mazda CX-5 was first displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, after being rapidly developed from 2009 to 2011 under the direction of Hideaki Tanaka and styled under the direction of Masashi Nakayama from 2009 to 2010. At the Tokyo Motor Show in 2011, the Japanese model was introduced to the public for the first time. In 2012, a customized version of the vehicle was introduced at the Tokyo Auto Salon. This model featured a red exterior body color, alloy wheels painted in matte black, and a slightly lower body height.

It is built on the same platform as the third-generation Mazda3 and the third-generation Mazda6, respectively.

In February of 2012, the production model became available for purchase, and buyers had the option of purchasing a vehicle powered by either a Skyactiv-G 2.0 gasoline engine or a Skyactiv-D 2.2 diesel engine, both of which were paired with either a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.

In January 2012, the Ujina plant located close to Mazda’s headquarters in Hiroshima, Japan, became the first facility in Japan to begin manufacturing the CX-5 with a. The production of the model was scheduled to increase to 240,000 units per year at Ujina in July 2012, and this was going to be accomplished by moving production from Ujina Plant No.2 to Ujina Plant No.1.
