Oil Reset Procedure for Mazda MX-5 Miata for the year 2003 through 2020
1. Turn the ignition key to “ON” position without starting the engine, If your vehicle has a Smart key button, press the “Start” button twice without touching the brake pedal.
2. Select APPLICATION on the center dash screen to enter to the menu using the COMMAND KNOB located at the center console.
3. Then Select VEHICLE STATUS MONITOR.
4. Select MAINTENANCE > SCHEDULED –Resets the time and distance to the initial values. Once the system turns on, it needs to be reset whenever carrying out maintenance.
Select MAINTENANCE > OIL CHANGE –Resets the remaining distance to the initial value. Once the system turns on, it needs to be reset whenever replacing the engine oil.
Select MAINTENANCE > TIRE ROTATION – Resets the remaining distance to the initial value. Once the system turns on, it needs to be reset whenever rotating the tyres.
4. Select RESET and select “YES” to confirm
5. Turn Ignition OFF. Maintenance Reset is complete.
Or you can also try this procedure;
1. Press and hold the TRIP BUTTON with the ignition switched off, then switch it on. Keep pressing the selector for more than 5 seconds.
2. The master warning light will flash for a few seconds when the reset is completed.

1. Press and hold the TRIP button with the ignition switched off.
2. Continue to hold the TRIP button and switch the ignition on.
3. After 5 seconds the master warning light will flash for a few seconds to indicate the reset is complete.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Select the (A) Applications icon.
3. Select Maintenance to display the maintenance list screen and select Oil Change.
4. Select Reset and follow the prompts.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Tap the touch screen to enter the menu
4. Select MAINTENANCE
Tap the touch screen to enter the menu
5. Select SCHEDULED and then select RESET
Tap the touch screen to enter the menu
6. When a confirmation dialog appears, select “YES” to confirm
Tap the touch screen to confirm
7. Next, back to the MAINTENANCE menu and select OIL CHANGE to reset the engine oil data
The engine oil data must be reset after performed change the engine oil on your vehicle.
8. Select RESET and select “YES” to confirm
