About Jaguar XJ8

The V8 engines were carried over into the new model, but they were the revised and improved versions that were introduced in the S-Type in 2003. The 294 PS 4.0 L and 375 PS 4.0 L supercharged engines from the X308 Mk II were replaced by the S-300 Type’s PS (221 kW; 296 hp) 4.2 L and 400 PS (294 kW; 395 hp) 4.2 L supercharged units respectively. Additionally, a new 3.5 L V8 was also introduced for the European market, which was derived from the 4.2 L engine and was rated at 265 PS (195 kW; 261 hp).

The 3.0 L V6 that is found in the X-Type and S-Type has taken the place of the 3.2 L V8 that produced 243 PS (179 kW; 240 hp) in the previous model. The XJ6 is powered by a naturally aspirated V6, while the XJ8 utilized a V8 with a naturally aspirated engine. The 4.2-liter V8 engine that was supercharged was found in the XJR. The only X350 models that are not available for purchase in the Americas are the XJ6 and the XJ TDVi.

Jaguar debuted the diesel-powered XJ TDVi in 2005. It was powered by the same 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that was jointly developed by Ford and Peugeot for the S-Type.
