Oil Reset Procedure for GMC Acadia 2007-2017

 

 

Easy to follow oil reset procedure for GMC Acadia for the year 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

 

 

GMC Acadia oil reset procedure for the year 2007

With DIC:

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Press the “MODE” button until “OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO RESET” is displayed.

3. Press and hold “SET” button until “100%” is displayed. Three chimes will sound and “CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON” message will no longer be displayed.

4. Turn ignition off.

Without DIC:

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.

3. Turn ignition off.

GMC Acadia oil reset procedure for the year 2008 through 2013

With DIC:

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Press the vehicle information button until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” is displayed.

3. Press and hold the “SET/RESET” button until 100% is displayed and three chimes are heard and the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON” message will turn off.

4. Turn ignition off.

Without DIC:

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. With vehicle in park, press the trip odometer stem until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” is displayed.

3. Press and hold the trip odometer stem until 100% is displayed and three chimes are heard and the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON” message will turn off.

4. Turn ignition off.

GMC Acadia oil reset procedure for the year 2014 through 2015

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Press the vehicle information button until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” is displayed.

3. Press and hold the “SET/RESET” button until 100% is displayed and three chimes are heard and the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON” message will turn off.

4. Turn ignition off.

GMC Acadia oil reset procedure for the year 2011 through 2017

1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with engine off.

2. Press the TRIP (on some models SELECT or SET/RESET) button, located on the DIC, until the OIL LIFE display appears. Message will display percentage of oil life remaining. NOTE: On models without DIC buttons, use the TRIP/ODOMETER reset stem.

3. Press and hold SET/RESET button (on some models, the check-symbol button) on DIC for at least 5 seconds. The message will change to indicate that the Oil Life has been reset. On some models, 3 chimes will also sound.

4. Turn ignition off.

5. Turn the key to OFF. If the light or message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

On January 12, 2016, the second generation Acadia made its official debut at the North American International Auto Show. The redesigned Acadia went on sale as a 2017 model in May 2016.
