Simple to follow oil reset procedure for GMC Yukon XL for the year 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
GMC Yukon XL oil reset procedure for the year 2000 through 2006
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Immediately press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
3. If the light flashes the system is reset. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Immediately press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
3. If the light flashes the system is reset. Turn ignition off.
GMC Yukon XL oil reset procedure for the year 2007 through 2014
1. ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Display “OIL LIFE REMAINING” on the DIC.
3. Press and hold the “SET/RESET” button for more than 5 seconds. Oil life will reset to 100%.
4. Turn ignition off.
5. If vehicle does not have DIC, vehicle must be in park to access the display by pressing the trip odometer reset stem.
6. Press and hold for more than 5 seconds and oil life will reset to 100%.
7. Turn ignition off.
8. Alternative method is to turn ignition to “RUN” position and press and release accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
9. Turn ignition off.
GMC Yukon XL oil reset procedure for the year 2015
1. ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Display “OIL LIFE REMAINING” on the DIC.
3. Press and hold the “SET/RESET” button for more than 5 seconds. Oil life will reset to 100%.
4. Turn ignition off.
5. If vehicle does not have DIC, vehicle must be in park to access the display by pressing the trip odometer reset stem.
6. Press and hold for more than 5 seconds and oil life will reset to 100%.
7. Turn ignition off.
8. Alternative method is to turn ignition to “RUN” position and press and release accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
9. Turn ignition off.
About GMC Yukon XL
The Chevrolet Tahoe and the GMC Yukon are both full-size SUVs manufactured by General Motors. These two models are distinguished from the Chevrolet Suburban and the GMC Yukon XL, which are very similar to one another, primarily by the amount of space available for passengers and cargo behind the C pillar. For the 1999 model year, GMC added the upscale Denali trim level to its lineup of Yukon automobiles. The Cadillac Escalade is a closely related upscale version that shares the same platform as the Yukon.
Different front fascias, hoods, and tail lights were installed on the GMC Yukon and the Chevrolet Tahoe for the 2007 model year. The GMC Yukon featured a grille and headlights that were integrated into a single unit, whereas the Chevrolet Tahoe’s grille was divided by a body-colored bar that was analogous to the chrome bar that was featured on the GMT800 Tahoe. The redesigned Yukon and Tahoe both featured a design that was more angular, which provided the vehicles with an appearance that was more refined than that of their forerunners. Additionally, the interior was completely redesigned, and it now has a dashboard that has a faux wood trim and instrument controls that are accented with chrome. In addition, new door panels and seats have been installed within the cabin. However, the nine-passenger seating capacity is still only available in the LS and SLE trim levels, just like in the Chevrolet Suburban and the GMC Yukon XL.
