About Chevrolet Trailblazer
Subcompact crossovers like the Chevy Trailblazer are the car world’s Labrador Retrievers: omnipresent, lovable members of the family. The Trailblazer is a smaller and less expensive alternative to Chevy’s Blazer, giving a large cabin in a compact vehicle. A 137-hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine is standard, with a 155-hp three-banger available as an option. Front-wheel-drive models use a continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT), whereas all-wheel-drive models have a smoother nine-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, both powertrains propel the Trailblazer with the same zeal of an obstinate Great Pyrenees. Front-drive Trailblazers with the less powerful engine get 33 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. This is less than the price of more cheap subcompact SUVs like the Kia Soul and Nissan Kicks. The Trailblazer’s high roof easily fits people in the rear seats, with five more cubic feet of inside room than the recently discontinued Trax. For those with large projects (or large pets), the front passenger seat slides forward to assist maximize the usability of the Trailblazer’s flat load floor.
It comes basic with a three-cylinder engine that is less powerful. However, for an additional $2000, we’d go from the 1.2-liter to the 1.3-liter and add all-wheel drive, which includes a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Adaptive Cruise Control option adds a slew of desirable amenities, such as the aforementioned driver assistance, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a rear center armrest. It also necessitates the Convenience package (automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, extra charging outlets, a larger touchscreen, and so on) as well as the Confidence II or Driver Confidence packages.
