Oil Reset Procedure for Lincoln MKZ for the year 2006 through 2012
1. Close all doors.
2. Turn the ignition to ON position, don’t start the engine.
3. Press the SETUP button until the OIL LIFE is displayed.
4. While the OIL LIFE is displayed, press and hold the RESET button until the OIL LIFE is reset to 100%.
5. Turn off the ignition. The oil reset is complete.

1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Press and release SETUP to display “OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
3. Press and hold RESET for 2 seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

3. Press and hold “RESET” for 2 seconds and release to reset to 100%.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press and hold the bake and accelerator pedals at the same time.
3. After 3 seconds, “SERVICE: OIL RESET IN PROG.” will be displayed.
4. Continue to hold until “SERVICE: OIL RESET COMPLETE” is displayed.
5. Release the pedals.
6. Turn ignition off.

About Lincoln MKZ
The 2006 Lincoln Zephyr debuted as a concept car at the 2004 New York International Auto Show, previewing a new entry-level luxury sedan. Lincoln’s signature waterfall grille and jeweled quad projector beam headlights adorned the front (HID headlights were available). The Zephyr’s beltline is trimmed in chrome, and the rear fascia features LED taillights and dual chrome exhaust tips.
The Zephyr name was officially revived by Lincoln in the fall of 2005; the vehicles were based on the CD3 platform, which was derived from the Mazda 6. Lincoln had previously used the Zephyr name for the smaller Lincoln-Zephyr line of mid-size vehicles in the late 1930s.
