Oil Reset Procedure for Honda Insight 2000-2014
Simple to follow oil reset procedure for Honda Insight 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Honda Insight oil reset procedure for the year 2000 through 2005
1. Turn ignition off.
2. Press and hold the “TRIP” button in the instrument panel and turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
3. Hold the “TRIP button for at least 10 seconds until “MAINT REQD” lamp turns off.
4. Turn ignition off.
Honda Insight oil reset procedure for the year 2006
1. Turn ignition off.
2. Press the “SELECT/RESET” button on the instrument panel, and turn to ignition to the “RUN” position.
3. Hold button for at least 10 seconds until the indicator is reset.
4. Turn ignition off.
Honda Insight oil reset procedure for the year 2008 through 2012
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, one position before starting engine. In some cases you need to hold the SEL/RESET button as you turn the ignition key on.
2. If the engine oil life is not displayed, press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel repeatedly.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel for more than 10 seconds.
4. The remaining engine oil life reset mode will be shown on the multiinformation display.
5. Select ‘‘RESET’’ by pressing the INFO ( / ) button, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display.
6. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to ‘‘100.’’ If you want to cancel the oil life reset mode, select ‘‘CANCEL.’’
Honda Insight oil reset procedure for the year 2010 through 2014
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “SEL/RESET” button on the steering wheel repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press and hold the “SEL/RESET” button for more than 10 seconds.
4. The oil life reset mode will be shown on the multi information display.
5. Select “RESET” by pressing the “INFO” button and then press “SEL/RESET” button to ereset the oil life display.
6. The maintenance item code(s) will turn off and the oil life will reset to 100.
7. Turn ignition off.
About Honda Insight
The Honda Insight is a hybrid electric vehicle that is produced and sold by Honda. Honda is also the company that gives the vehicle its name. Its first generation, which spanned from 1999 to 2006, featured a two-door, two-passenger liftback, while the model’s second generation featured a four-door, five-passenger liftback (2009–2014).
It evolved into a four-door sedan in the third generation of the model (2019–present). During the entirety of its production run, it was the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered vehicle available in the United States that did not have the capability to plug into an electrical outlet. It was also the first model produced by Honda to feature an Integrated Motor Assist system.
The second-generation Honda Insight was first shown to the public for the first time in Japan in February 2009 and for the first time in the United States on March 24, 2009. The Insight was the hybrid vehicle with the lowest price point that was offered in the United States.
In December of 2010, Honda unveiled a new base model for the 2011 model year that had a lower starting price. The Honda Insight, which was introduced in the UK in April 2009 at the time when it had the market’s lowest price for a hybrid vehicle, quickly became the hybrid vehicle that was in highest demand during that month.
Honda made the announcement in April 2022 that the Insight would no longer be produced after the 2022 model year, and that production would stop in June of that same year. It is going to be succeeded by a brand new Civic Hybrid.
