About GMC Terrain
The Pontiac Torrent was replaced by the GMC Terrain in 2010, which made its debut at the New York International Auto Show in April 2009. The Pontiac Torrent was introduced as a replacement for the Pontiac brand, which was discontinued by General Motors in 2010. The Pontiac Torrent that came before the Pontiac Terrain shared the same Theta platform. However, the Pontiac Torrent was essentially a rebranded version of the Chevrolet Equinox that was sold from 2005 to 2009. In 2010, General Motors made the decision to change the exterior design of the Chevrolet Equinox but to keep using the Theta platform.
Denali is a new trim level for the GMC Terrain that was introduced for the 2013 model year. Denali includes more chrome trim and a slightly improved interior quality. In place of the optional 3.0L SIDI V6, the 3.6L SIDI V6 that is shared with the 2012 Cadillac SRX is standard, and the front struts are more rigid. Optional features on the Denali include those for detecting cross-traffic, blind-spot collisions, and powering the passenger seat.
