About MC Sierra 2500 HD

In 2003, General Motors debuted a redesigned model of the Silverado and Sierra, which featured an all-new front end and a rear end that had been modified very slightly. Another facelift was given to the Silverado in 2006, and it was very similar to the HD version that was introduced in 2005 HD models. In addition to that, the “Chevrolet” badge that was located on the tailgate of Chevrolet vehicles from the years 1998 to 2005 has been removed. Its SUV counterparts continued to make use of the sheet metal that was used before the facelift. As a measure to reduce production costs, all light-duty GMT800 pickups switched from front disc brakes to rear drum brakes during the 2005 model year. On the other hand, heavy-duty trucks and SUVs kept their 4-wheel disc brakes.

Although there were no injuries found on any of the dummy’s body regions, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Silverado an overall score of “marginal” for its performance in the frontal offset crash test. This was due to the vehicle’s poor structural integrity as well as its poor dummy control.

In 2001, GMC introduced the Sierra C3, which was essentially an upgraded version of the Sierra 1500. It featured all-wheel drive and a final drive gear ratio of 3.73, as well as a 6.0-liter Vortec 6000 LQ4 V8 engine that was rated at 325 horsepower (242 kW) at 5000 rpm and 370 lb•ft (502 Nm) of torque at 4000 rpm. Additionally, it was equipped with a 4L60E-HD four-speed automatic transmission and other high-end components. The model was rebranded as the Sierra Denali for the 2002 model year, but the majority of its specifications were carried over from the previous year with the exception of the addition of Quadrasteer and General Motors’ switch from the 4L60E-HD to the 4L65E transmission, which was paired with a 4.10:1 final drive gear ratio.
