Oil Reset Procedure for Ford F-550 2009-2016
Simple to follow oil reset procedure for Ford F-550 for the year 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Ford F-550 oil reset procedure for the year 2009.
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “SELECT/ RESET” stem button to display “OIL LIFE = % HOLD RESET = NEW”.
3. Press and hold the “SELECT/RESET” stem for 2 seconds to reset to 100%.
4. Turn ignition off.
If equipped with message center:
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Use the controls on the left of the steering wheel to scroll through menu.
3. Press the up and down arrow buttons to select “SETTINGS” and then “VEHICLE”.
4. Select “OIL LIFE RESET %” and then “OK” to reset.
5. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “SELECT/ RESET” stem button to display “OIL LIFE = % HOLD RESET = NEW”.
3. Press and hold the “SELECT/RESET” stem for 2 seconds to reset to 100%.
4. Turn ignition off.
If equipped with message center:
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Use the controls on the left of the steering wheel to scroll through menu.
3. Press the up and down arrow buttons to select “SETTINGS” and then “VEHICLE”.
4. Select “OIL LIFE RESET %” and then “OK” to reset.
5. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “SELECT/ RESET” stem button to display “OIL LIFE = % HOLD RESET = NEW”.
3. Press and hold the “SELECT/RESET” stem for 2 seconds to reset to 100%.
4. Turn ignition off.
If equipped with message center:
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Use the controls on the left of the steering wheel to scroll through menu.
3. Press the up and down arrow buttons to select “SETTINGS” and then “VEHICLE”.
4. Select “OIL LIFE RESET %” and then “OK” to reset.
5. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Use the controls on the left of the steering wheel to scroll through menu.
3. Press the up and down arrow buttons to select “SETTINGS” and then “VEHICLE”.
4. Select “OIL LIFE RESET %” and then “OK” to reset.
5. Turn ignition off.
Ford Explorer F-550 oil reset procedure for the year 2008 through 2016.
Without Message Center
1. Press and release the SETUP button to display OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW.
2. Press and hold the RESET button for two seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%.
Note: To change oil life 100% value (if equipped with this feature) to another value, proceed to Step 3.
3. Once OIL LIFE SET TO XXX% is displayed, release and press the RESET button to change the Oil Life Start Value. Each release and press will reduce the value by 10%.
With Message Center
1. Turn the ignition to the “on” position, but do not start the engine.
2. Press the RIGHT ARROW button on the directional pad on the steering wheel and scroll to the SETTINGS tab
3. Scroll down and select ADVANCED SETTINGS/CONVENIENCE
4. Select VEHICLE
5. Select OIL LIFE RESET
6. Push and hold OK BUTTON until it resets completely
7. Turn off the ignition and then restart the engine.
About Ford F-550
While primarily aimed at fleet buyers, the F-450 and F-550 models were available to Super Duty pickup buyers in XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. The 6.8 L V10 was the only gasoline engine available, while the diesel option was the 7.3 L Power Stroke, which was replaced in 2003 by the 6.0 L Power Stroke.
The F-450 and F-550 received more exterior updates than the rest of the Super Duty line in 2005, including an extended front bumper and front fenders; the F-550 also received a “wide-track” front axle to sharpen its turning radius.
