About Ford Taurus
The Ford Motor Company in the United States produced the Ford Taurus automobile for model years ranging from 1986 all the way up to 2019 for the purpose of meeting consumer demand. The six generations were produced over a period of 34 years, beginning late in 1985 for the 1986 model year. There was a brief break between the production of generations 2006 and 2007, however. Between the model years of 1986 and 2009, the Taurus was sold concurrently with its near-twin, the Mercury Sable. Additionally, between 1986 and 2009, four generations of the high-performance Ford Taurus SHO were manufactured. In addition, the Taurus was used as the foundation for the development of the very first front-wheel drive Lincoln Continental (1988–2002).
The 2010 Ford Taurus debuted at the 2009 Detroit International Auto Show at Cobo Hall. Moreover, the Taurus and Taurus SHO press preview was held in Asheville, North Carolina, from June 15 to June 19, 2009. Additionally, The Ford performed admirably in test drives, and the media was impressed by some of the new features available in the 2010 Ford Taurus.
The All-wheel drive, cross-traffic alert, collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control were among the features. Others, however, criticized the Taurus’s lack of interior space and reduced sight lines despite its full-sized exterior, and Edmunds pointed out that the eighth-generation Honda Accord (which competes in the mid-size category) had superior driving dynamics and a more efficient design, as well as offering nearly as much interior space as the Taurus despite significantly smaller external dimensions.
