About Ford Fiesta
Since it was first introduced in 1976, Ford has produced seven distinct generations of its supermini car known as the Fiesta. Over the course of its existence, Ford’s European operations have been primarily responsible for the development and production of the Fiesta. The Fiesta has always been positioned below the Escort (later the Focus).
Since its introduction in 1976, the Ford Fiesta has racked up over 22 million sales, making it one of the company’s most successful marques, right behind the Escort and the F-Series. The United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Taiwan, China, India, Thailand, and South Africa have all been responsible for its production at some point.
It is anticipated that production of the Fiesta will end in June 2023, after a total of 20 million have been produced; the Fiesta was largely superseded by newer models. As restrictions on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines became more widespread, the Ford Puma hybrid emerged as the more economically viable option.
