About Cadillac Escalade
General Motors is responsible for the design and production of the full-size luxury SUV known as the Cadillac Escalade. It was Cadillac’s first significant foray into the sport utility vehicle (SUV) market. In response to the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, and Lexus LX, as well as Ford’s 1998 release of the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac introduced the Escalade for the 1999 model year. This was done in order to compete with these other luxury SUVs. After only ten months of having its approval, the Escalade project was put into production and put into motion. Arlington, Texas is where they construct the Escalade. The strategy of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the assistance of ladders or siege towers is referred to as a “escalade,” and it is used in the context of siege warfare. In a broader sense, it is a French word that serves as the noun form of the French verb escalader, which means “to climb or scale.” Escalader comes from the Latin word escala, which means “stair.”
At this time, the Escalade is only available for purchase in select international markets (Europe and Asia), including North America, where Cadillac maintains official sales channels. The Escalade ESV, also known as the Escalade Stretch Vehicle, is offered for sale in North America, Russia, and the Middle East; however, in some international markets, it is only available through special order. In the markets of Australia, Oceania, and Japan, right-hand-drive versions of the Escalade and Escalade ESV are obtainable through third-party conversion specialists even though Cadillac does not have an official agreement with these companies.
