About Cadillac XTS
The Cadillac XTS, also known as the X-Series Touring Sedan, is a full-size, four-door, five-passenger, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive luxury sedan from Cadillac. It is based on an enlarged version of the Epsilon II platform, which is also shared by the Buick Lacrosse and the Chevrolet Impala. This generation of the Cadillac XTS was manufactured from 2013 until 2019.
The Cadillac XTS succeeded both the smaller STS and the larger DTS models. The Oshawa Assembly Plant started production in May of 2012, and the model year 2013 was introduced in June of that year. Left-hand drive models of the XTS were marketed worldwide, including in the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, China, and the Middle East (with the exception of Israel), and the vehicle was assembled by Shanghai GM, with production having begun in February 2013.
In the Chinese market, the XTS was available with two different types of engines: the LFX 3.6 V6 engine and the LTG 2.0 turbo engine. In China, the XTS was sold under the name XTS 36S when equipped with an LFX 3.6 V6 engine, and under the name XTS 2.0T when equipped with an LTG 2.0 turbo engine. An optional twin-turbocharged engine, which was only available in the V-Sport model, had an estimated time of 4.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (or 0 to 97 kilometers per hour). The version with 304 horsepower (227 kW) can reach 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in 6.7 seconds.
Aside from the base XTS, there are five trim levels labeled “Luxury,” “Premium Luxury,” and “Platinum,” with the optional XTS V-Sport available in both “V-Sport Premium Luxury” and “V-Sport Platinum.” Dual-zone automatic climate control, 4G LTE connectivity, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, leather seat upholstery, 8-way power front seats, parking assist, and comprehensive safety equipment such as ABS, stability control, dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags front and rear, and a driver side knee airbag are among the standard features.
