About Subaru Impreza
The third generation high-performance WRX variants were produced until early 2014, when new versions were released. Subaru decided to discontinue marketing the WRX and WRX STI as Impreza models in 2014. The WRX and WRX STI are Subaru Impreza performance trims with higher output engines, firmer suspension, larger brakes, slightly resculpted body panels, lowered ride height, and larger intakes. Subaru had promised to separate the WRX and STi from the Impreza chassis and body to create a standalone model, but instead chose to simply change the Impreza’s body and chassis and drop the Impreza name.Subaru decided not to produce the previously offered WRX or WRX STi wagon. The wagon accounted for roughly half of all WRX and WRX STI sales in the United States.
Subaru offered the Impreza Sport Hatchback in Premium and Limited trim levels in addition to standard models. The so-called American Impreza Sport (not to be confused with the JDM regular hatchback of the same name) has a rugged appearance with side spoilers, a roof rack, various alloy styles, and the option of two-tone colors. However, unlike the new XV, it has standard ground clearance. Buyers of the Premium model grade can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission and a Lineartronic CVT, whereas the Limited is only available with a CVT. (Source: Wiki)
