About Saab 9-7X
The Saab 9-7X was introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year by General Motors, and it was also built on the GMT360 platform, which was also used by the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, Oldsmobile Bravada, and Buick Rainier. Saab’s first SUV was the 9-7X.
For 2005, the Saab 9-7X was available in two trim levels: Linear and Arc. The Saab 9-7X did not have a turbocharged engine, which was unusual for a Saab vehicle. All Saab 9-7X vehicles come standard with all wheel drive (the first year Saab offered all wheel drive), eighteen inch sport wheels, and sport tuned suspension.
When the 2005 Saab 9-7X was introduced, it replaced the Oldsmobile Bravada (which had been discontinued as a direct result of the Oldsmobile brand being discontinued in 2004), as well as the Buick Rainier. Except for a front fascia designed to resemble other Saab vehicles, the majority of the exterior styling on the Saab 9-7X and Buick Rainier was a direct transfer from the discontinued Bravada.
From 2005 to 2009, the Saab 9-7X was General Motors’ second most expensive luxury SUV, with the Cadillac Escalade being the most expensive. GM positioned the Saab 9-7X as a direct competitor to higher-end luxury SUVs such as the Volvo XC90 and Volkswagen Touareg. (Source: Wiki)
