About Pontiac G6
The Pontiac G6 is a mid-size automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Pontiac brand. It was introduced in 2004 to replace the Grand Am for the 2005 model year.
The Chevrolet Malibu, Saab 9-3, and other General Motors vehicles shared the GM Epsilon platform with the G6. A remote starting system (standard on GT, optional on base model), traction control/ABS, electronic stability control, automatic headlights, and a panoramic sunroof were among the features. For model years 2006-2009, a retractable hardtop convertible was available. With the discontinuation of the Pontiac line in 2010, production came to an end.
Pontiac introduced a two-digit naming convention with the G6, with the Pontiac G8 being a class above the G6 and the Pontiac G5 being a class below. In the case of the G6, the nameplate indicated that it was the sixth generation of the Pontiac Grand Am. (Source: Wiki)
