About Pontiac Firebird
The fourth-generation Firebird expanded on the previous generation’s aerodynamic styling. While the live rear axle and floorpan behind the front seats remained largely unchanged, 90% of the Firebird’s parts were all-new.Overall, the Firebird’s styling reflected the Banshee IV concept car more strongly than the 1991 “facelift” did. Major upgrades included standard dual airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, 16-inch wheels, rack-and-pinion power steering, short/long-arm front suspension, and several non-rusting composite body panels, as with the Camaro.Trim levels included the V6-powered Firebird, V8-powered Formula, and Trans Am throughout its fourth generation. The T5 five-speed manual transmission was standard for V6s, and the T56 six-speed manual transmission was standard for V8s. In 1993, the 4L60 four-speed automatic transmission was optional for both, becoming the 4L60E with built-in electronic controls in 1994. (Source: Wiki)
