About Lexus GX 460
Lexus, the luxury brand that is a division of Toyota, offers the full-size luxury SUV known as the GX for sale in markets located in North America and Eurasia. Because the GX is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, it inherits the off-road capability of its parent vehicle. In 2002, Lexus debuted the first generation of this SUV, which was referred to as the GX 470. After its debut, the GX 470 became the third SUV to be offered by Lexus. Low-range gearing is standard on the all-wheel drive system, which operates continuously. The GX 470 utilized the same V8 engine that was found in the larger LX 470, which clocked in at 4.7 liters. After that, in 2009, the company launched the second generation of the model, which was given the model designation GX 460 to reflect the switch to a 4.6-liter V8 engine. Later on, in 2012, Lexus released a GX 400 for the Chinese market that featured a 4.0-liter V6 engine but had a lower displacement overall.
The GX 460 made its debut in China in November 2009 at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. Body-on-frame construction, full-time four-wheel drive, an electronically controlled hi-lo transfer case, and a Torsen center locking differential were all retained in the redesigned model. The Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) was adopted as the industry standard. A new 4.6-liter 1UR-FE V8 engine with 224 kW (301 hp) and 446 Nm (329 lbft) of torque, mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission, provided power. The previous generation’s fuel economy was improved[15], and the maximum towing capacity was 2,950 kilograms (6,500 lb). Cd=0.35 was the drag coefficient that was reduced. The rear wiper was hidden beneath the rear spoiler, and the tailgate remained side-opening with the addition of a flip-up glass panel.
