About Jeep Cherokee

When compared to the previous design, the new body layout featured a torsional rigidity that was 146% higher than that of the previous design. This resulted in an improvement in durability as well as a reduction in noise, vibration, and harshness.

The chassis is a steel unibody, just like in previous generations of the vehicle. The new WK2 boasts an improved on-road handling thanks to its four-wheel independent suspension, which sets it apart from earlier models. A Mercedes-Benz W166 series derivative is used in the production of the Grand Cherokee and the Durango in 2011, both of which use the WK2 platform.

The Quadra-Trac I, the Quadra-Trac II, and the Quadra-Drive II are all examples of four-wheel drive systems. The driver has the ability to choose between Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock modes when using Selec-Terrain.

The height-adjustable air suspension, which Jeep refers to as “Quadra-Lift,” is an available option that can increase the vehicle’s ground clearance by as much as 11.1 inches (282 mm).

Both a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 were available as engines for this vehicle. The Multiple Displacement System (MDS) that turns off four of the engine’s cylinders in low-power driving situations is still a part of the Hemi V8 engine, and the engine is still coupled to the multi-speed automatic transmission that includes Electronic Range Selection (ERS) to manually limit the high gear operating range. Both of these features are still present. The capacity of Hemi models to pull trailers is rated at 7,400 pounds (3,400 kilograms), while the capacity of Pentastar models is 5,000 pounds (2,300 kilograms).
