About GMC Savana
Full-size body-on-frame vans are represented by both the GMC Savana and the Chevrolet Express, which are mechanically identical. The Savana has been on the market since 1996 in both a passenger van and a cargo van configuration, and its exterior design has remained largely unchanged since that year.
Really not much of a problem. It is less important how vans look and more important what they are able to do. And the Savana can do a lot, whether it’s a Cargo Van carrying tools and materials to the job site or a Passenger Van transporting a large family to a destination like the Grand Canyon. It can do both.
The Savana is available with either a 135- or 155-inch wheelbase, and it can be either 224 or 244 inches in length overall. The Savana Passenger Van with the standard length has seating for a total of 12 passengers across its four rows. The extended Savana has seating for either 12 passengers in four rows or 15 passengers in five rows.
The standard-length Savana can be configured as a cargo van, and this configuration provides 124.6 inches of load floor space behind the front seats in addition to 239.7 cubic feet of total cargo volume. With a load floor measuring 146.2 inches and a total cargo volume measuring an impressive 284.4 cubic feet, the Extended Savana Cargo Van is an exceptional cargo vehicle.
The Savana comes with a total of three different engines. The standard engine is still a 4.3-liter V6 that has been around for quite some time. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels.
