Oil Reset Procedure for GMC Canyon 2004-2015
Simple to follow oil reset procedure for GMC Canyon for the year 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
GMC Canyon oil reset procedure for the year 2004
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position and immediately press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
2. Turn ignition off.
3. If vehicle is equipped with DIC, turn ignition to “RUN” position.
4. Display “OIL LIFE” on the DIC by pressing the reset button.
5. Press and hold reset stem and the oil life will change to 100% and a beep will be heard.
6. Turn ignition off.
GMC Canyon oil reset procedure for the year 2005 through 2006
1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press and release the “TRIP/RESET” stem button in the DIC until the “OIL LIFE” message is displayed.
3. Once the “OIL LIFE” and “RESET” messages appear on the display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps are heard.
4. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press and release the “TRIP/RESET” stem button in the DIC until the “OIL LIFE” message is displayed.
3. Once the “OIL LIFE” and “RESET” messages appear on the display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps are heard.
4. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press and release the “TRIP/RESET” stem button in the DIC until the “OIL LIFE” message is displayed.
3. Once the “OIL LIFE” and “RESET” messages appear on the display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps are heard.
4. Turn ignition off

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “DIC MENU” button on the turn signal lever to enter the vehicle information menu.
3. Use the thumbwheel to scroll through the options until you reach “REMAINING OIL LIFE”.
4. Press the “SET/CLR” button to reset the oil life to 100%.
5. Turn ignition off.
6. Alternative method is to turn ignition to “RUN” position and press and release accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
7. Turn ignition off.
About GMC Canyon
After having the same underpinnings for the past nine years and a half, the GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado will finally get a refresh for the 2023 model year. The Canyon and its brother with the bow tie have always shared a striking resemblance, but only to a certain extent. Both pickups have traditionally been equipped with the same smooth-riding and unimpressive interiors, as well as powertrains.
A dedicated off-road version of each of these models will debut in 2023, in addition to being completely redesigned from the inside out. The off-road prowess of the Jimmy will be significantly improved thanks to the addition of a new AT4X trim for the 2023 GMC Canyon. This trim is intended to be comparable to the Chevrolet ZR2. The most off-road capable iterations of competitors’ vehicles, such as the Toyota Tacoma, the Jeep Gladiator, and the Ford Ranger, are the ones that the AT4X should be able to compete with seriously now. The ZR2’s Multimatic spool-valve dampers will be utilized in the AT4X, along with the ZR2’s upgraded suspension, locking front and rear differentials, and 33-inch all-terrain tires that are optionally available. In the latter part of this summer, it is anticipated that this unique variant of the Canyon will put some mud on the tires.
