1. Turn the ignition to the “ON” position.
2. Press the up arrow button to the left of the steering wheel until “ENGINE OIL LIFE” is displayed.
3. Press and hold the “RESET” button until “100%” is displayed.

1.Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
Make sure the vehicle completely stops
2. Press the ▲i▼ button briefly until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” appears on the screen
The button is located on the instrument panel
3. Press and hold the i// button until Oil Life 100% appears on the screen
The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off
4. Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
About Cadillac STS
Guide for Resetting the Engine Oil Life Light on the 2005-2011 Cadillac STS – The Cadillac STS is a four-door sedan that was manufactured by the American automaker Cadillac during the years of 2004 and 2011. This sedan was first shown to the public in 2004 at the New York Motor Show, although it did not go on sale until 2005, when it succeeded the Cadillac Seville in production.
Rear-wheel drive is one of the possible drivetrain options, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is only available on select models despite having three different engines and either a five- or six-speed sequential automatic transmission. On the American market, the vehicle also comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 direct-injection engine that is capable of producing 304 horsepower.
The Cadillac Seville, which debuted in 1988, was given the STS designation for the first time as a limited-edition, custom-built, sport-tuned version of the car. The Cadillac Seville STS, which went into series production in 1989 and was a notable (and extremely rare) success for the brand, was designed to stem the flow of customers away from Cadillac and toward European marques. Even though it wasn’t quite up to the level of a BMW-rival, it did demonstrate that Cadillac was serious about developing a performance model.
In 1992, Cadillac introduced a new Seville with a European design aesthetic, and the high-performance STS version was the model that enthusiasts like us had been anticipating. It received the Automobile of the Year award as well as the MotorTrend Car of the Year award, and all of this was accomplished before it was upgraded in 1993 to include the 295 horsepower Northstar V-8. The STS was a mainstay in the Seville lineup until the year 2003; however, its more luxurious sibling, the SLS (Seville Luxury Sedan), outlived it by one year.
When the Seville’s replacement debuted for the 2005 model year, it dropped the Seville moniker in favor of the STS. The Seville had been a front-wheel-drive vehicle since the 1980s, but the new STS featured a longitudinal engine and was available with rear- or all-wheel drive. It was the first rear-drive Cadillac in 25 years, as well as Cadillac’s first all-wheel-drive vehicle. The STS, which was dressed in Caddy’s new “Art and Science” design theme, was available with either a 255-hp 3.6-liter V-6 or a 320-hp 4.6-liter Northstar V-8.
