About AUDI S3
A complete redesign of the Audi S3 is scheduled for 2022. This model strikes a commendable balance, both in terms of price and character, between the more conventional A3 and the higher-performing RS 3, which is the result of this year’s update. The S3, which comes standard with all-wheel drive and has 306 horsepower, is a significant upgrade from the A3, which has 201 horsepower, and it is also a practical alternative to the RS 3, which has 401 horsepower.
In spite of the fact that they are Audi’s entry-level vehicles, the A3 and S3 provide a respectable amount of modern luxury as well as technological features. On top of that, they are some of the smallest sedans in the class, which makes them a lot of fun to drive on winding roads and easy to park in confined spaces. In the same vein, there is a sufficient quantity of space available for passengers.
The 2022 Audi S3 is a powerful performer that should excite the majority of drivers with spirited driving styles, but it is not the only option available. This year, BMW also refreshed the design of its smaller 2 Series Coupe, which has the potential to surpass the S3 in terms of performance but may not match it in terms of convenience. There is also the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35, which strikes a balance between fun and luxury that is comparable to that of the S3. Have a look at our Expert Rating down below to get a better idea of how it compares to these other powerful little luxury cars.
On the road, the Audi S3 is surprisingly light and nimble, thanks in large part to its responsive steering and its sport-tuned suspension. It is also very fast. Our test S3 raced from 0 to 60 mph in a scant 4.6 seconds, and there is power all over the rev range, which makes the S3 feel quick both on city streets and winding back roads. Our test S3 raced from 0 to 60 mph in a scant 4.6 seconds. The Audi S3 adopts a laid-back demeanor when it is not being driven at a high rate of speed, and its responsive transmission makes gear changes very quickly.
The all-wheel drive system that comes standard ensures that power is always transferred to the road, and the impressive stopping power instills confidence at all times. During the emergency braking tests that we ran at the Edmunds test facility, the S3 came to a stop from 60 miles per hour in an impressive 107 feet and demonstrated excellent stability with each stop. The S3’s compact size and light steering make it exceptionally easy to park, which is an added bonus.
