ABOUT AUDI Q3
The car is built on the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform, which is also used for the Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. This platform was originally developed for the Volkswagen Golf Mk5. The Q3 comes in above the subcompact crossover SUV that Audi offers, the Q2. When compared to the compact luxury crossover SUV Q5 and the mid-size luxury crossover SUV Q7, which are positioned more for the family-practicality and off-road performance, the Q3 is aimed more as a lifestyle/sports automobile than it is either of the other two vehicles. After receiving approval from the board in the second half of 2007, design and development got underway. The design created by Julian Hoenig was selected for production in 2009 and remained unchanged.
Components, transmissions, and engines for the Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf, and Skoda Yeti are all shared between the Q3 and these other vehicles because they are all built on the same PQ35 platform.
The car was presented to the public for the first time at Auto Shanghai 2011.
In June of 2011, the vehicles were made available for purchase. Early models include 2.0 TFSI quattro (170/211PS), 2.0 TDI (140PS), 2.0 TDI quattro (177PS).

As part of the 2012 Paris Motor Show premiere, the 2.0 TDI quattro came equipped with 103 kW (138 hp) and was made available in 2012 for the German market.
