ABOUT AUDI ALLROAD QUATTRO
Since the turn of the millennium, Audi has been actively marketing its Audi Allroad sub-brand. Although the A6 Allroad was the first of its kind, the A4 Allroad offers a very comparable package. It is based on the standard A4 Avant estate, and in some ways it is a flagship model for buyers who don’t want the sportiness that the S4 and RS4 models deliver. This is because it is based on the standard A4 Avant estate.
The Allroad receives a number of enhancements that are intended to provide the A4 Avant with an appearance that is more rugged and some off-road capability. In order to accomplish this, it has plastic wheelarch extensions, chunkier bumpers with silver inserts, a raised ride height with an additional 23 millimeters of suspension travel, and all of the vehicles have quattro four-wheel drive as standard equipment. Additionally, the A4 Allroad receives an additional Off-Road mode that is added to the A4’s standard Drive Select system. This mode optimizes the throttle, steering, and gearchanges for off-road driving by adjusting the appropriate parameters.
The first generation of the Audi A4 Allroad was introduced in 2008 as a variant of the fourth-generation A4 model. The current generation of the vehicle was introduced in 2016, not long after the standard estate was made available for purchase. The A4 Allroad comes with a number of different options to choose from, in contrast to other off-road estates, which typically only offer a single engine option and one or two different trim levels.
There is a gasoline engine with a 2.0 TFSI 252PS output that has 249 horsepower, a diesel engine with a 2.0 TDI 190PS output that has 187 horsepower, and a 3.0 V6 TDI engine with either 218PS or 272PS output that has either 215hp or 268hp respectively. All models, with the exception of the most potent diesel, are equipped with Audi’s S tronic twin-clutch automatic transmission, which has seven gears (the most powerful diesel has an eight-speed Tiptronic box), and all cars come standard with quattro all-wheel drive.
