ABOUT AUDI A7 QUATTRO
The Audi Sportback concept is a vehicle that is still in the development stage. It is powered by a concept version of Audi’s 3.0-liter V6 TDI clean diesel engine, which is rated at 225 PS (165 kW; 222 hp) and 550 Nm (406 lbft) of torque. It comes equipped with a seven-speed S tronic transmission, a quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system, a five-link front suspension, continuous damping control shock absorbers, electromechanical steering, ceramic brake discs (380 mm front and 356 mm rear), front 6-piston monobloc aluminum brake calipers, and rear floating-caliper brakes, as well as wheels that are 21 inches in diameter.
The car was presented to the public for the first time at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, and it features a preview of the updated 2015 A7 Sportback.
The Audi A7 is essentially a four-door fastback version of the C7-generation Audi A6, and it is based on the MLB platform that is used by Volkswagen Group. Before the more traditional A6 saloon and estate was introduced, Audi debuted the A7. Both automobiles have the same fundamental structure, drivetrain, chassis, dashboard, and interior, but the A7 has its own distinctive exterior panelwork that sets it apart from the other vehicle. Aluminum is used extensively throughout the construction of the front body structure of this model, in contrast to the use of steel in the A6. The Avant version of the C2 Audi 100 was the last car to be produced with a fastback body style before it was discontinued in 1982; the A7 was the first fastback model to appear in the Audi C-platform series since then.
The vehicle was presented to the public for the first time on July 26, 2010, at the Pinakothek der Moderne art museum in Munich. It was later displayed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the 2011 New York Auto Show, and the 2011 Worthersee Tour (in Misano Red).
In the fall of 2010, the vehicles were made available for purchase. Early models include the 2.8 FSI (204 PS (150 kW; 201 hp)) with multitronic, the 3.0 TFSI quattro (300 PS (221 kW; 296 hp)) with seven-speed S tronic, and the 3.0 TDI quattro (245 PS (180 kW; 242 hp)) with seven-speed S tronic. These were later succeeded by the 3.0 TDI (204
In the A7 model year 2011, FlexRay high speed databus is introduced. This databus controls all of the driver assistance systems that are found in the A8. In addition, the A7 model year 2011 adds head-up display and active lane assist. Full LED headlamps with automatic high beam switching or Audi adaptive light (Xenon) with variable headlight range control are two of the available lighting options.
2012 was the first year that US models were available for purchase.
One of the first models was the 3.0 TFSI quattro, which came equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and 310 PS (228 kW; 306 hp).
The A7 3.0 TDI quattro (313 PS (230 kW; 309 hp)) (also known as the A7 3.0 BiTDI quattro) was introduced to the UK market.
At the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi debuted the A7 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro.
The A7 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro was scheduled to go on sale in the United States in the fall of 2013 as a 2014 model year vehicle.
