Oil Reset Procedure for Acura MDX 2001 to 2022

 

Easy to follow procedure for Acura MDX oil reset for the year, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

 

From 2001 to 2002

  1. With ignition off, press and hold “SELECT” and “RESET” buttons on dash and turn ignition to the “ON” position.
  2. Continue to hold until lamp resets.

 

From 2003 to 2006

  1. With ignition off, press and hold “SELECT” and “RESET” buttons on dash and turn ignition to the “ON” position.
  2. Continue to hold until lamp resets.

 

From 2007 to 2013

  1. Turn ignition on. Press the “SEL/RESET” button repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed.
  2. Press and hold “SEL/RESET” button for more than 10 seconds.
  3. Select “RESET” by pressing the up/down button.

 

From 2014 to 2015

  1. Set power mode to “ON” position. Use scroll wheel to select “MAINTENANCE INFO”, followed by “MAINTENANCE RESET”.
  2. Select “RESET”, displayed maintenance item will disappear and engine oil life display will return to 100%. Turn power mode off.

 

From 2014 to 2020

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  2. Roll the steering-wheel controls button to find VEHICLE SETTINGS menu and then press the button to select the menu
  3. Scroll to MAINTENANCE INFO
  4. Press the steering-wheel controls button
  5. Select RESET to execute the maintenance reset

From 2021 to 2022

  1. Set the power mode to ON
  2. Use the right selector wheel to scroll over through until you get the MAINTENANCE screen
  3. On the wheel, you’re gonna press and hold it down to enter the reset mode
  4. In this mode, you can select the maintenance item you want to reset or you can also select All Due Items
  5. Press the wheel to perform reset the selected item

 

About ACURA MDX

The fourth-generation MDX was revealed as a prototype on October 14, 2020, virtually revealed on December 8, went into bulk production on January 12, 2021 for the 2022 model year, and went on sale on February 2, with the Type-S trim arriving in the fourth quarter of 2021, skipping the 2021 model year. Following the discontinuation of the RLX in June 2020, Acura claims the MDX will be their flagship model.

The exterior features a standard panoramic sunroof, either 19 or 20-inch alloy rims, a tailgate similar to the 2019 RDX, headlights and taillights similar to the current TLX, a differently styled grille emblem, nine exterior and seven interior colors, and nine exterior and seven interior colors. A yellow color called Tiger Eye will also be available for the Type-S trim. In comparison to the third generation MDX, the improved interior includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system and Acura’s first 12-inch digital full TFT instrument cluster, touch pad, 16-way power front seats with 3-memory positions, removable center second row seat, removable double sided trunk floor with carpet and plastic, and more legroom and headroom. The MDX also has an optional 16-speaker audio system with four roof-mounted speakers and a foot sensor for Hands Free Access power tailgate release and closure when the key fob is nearby. A new key fob in the shape of a convex irregular polygon is included.

The existing 3.5-liter V6 paired with a 10-speed transmission is now available in four trims: base, technology package, A-Spec, and advance package. While AWD is optional on the base and technology trims, it is standard on the A-Spec and advance trims. The Type-S trim model will come standard with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 and four-piston Brembo calipers on the front brakes. The Type-S will also come standard with all-wheel drive.

Front suspension features forged aluminum lower control arms, damper forks, and steering knuckles, as well as more rigid cast-aluminum shock towers, larger front brake rotors, and wider alloy wheels. Plastic wheel well liners have been replaced with fabric material, and the air intake has been repositioned to allow easier access to both battery terminals. The vehicle body is made up of 69.7 percent high-strength steel (HSS), press-hardened steel, and aluminum. The rear body is more rigid, with suspension load paths passing through the C and D-pillars, enabling towing. The standard towing capacity is 3,500 pounds, but it can be increased to 5,000 pounds with the addition of a transmission cooler. The cooler kit is an optional accessory for AWD models.
