About Toyota FJ Cruiser
Toyota USA announced on November 5, 2013, that the Trail Teams edition for the 2014 model year would be called the “Ultimate Edition,” and that the 2014 model year would be the last for the FJ Cruiser in that market. It was still manufactured for sale in other markets, such as Australia, until its export to that country was discontinued in August 2016. It is still sold in markets such as Chile, the Middle East, the Philippines, and Southern African Customs Union countries as of April 2022. Toyota announced on October 1, 2022, that the FJ Cruiser will be discontinued in the Middle East by December 20, 2022, along with a final edition mode.
Beginning with the 2008 model year, Toyota produced 3,200 units of specially equipped FJ Cruisers known as the Trail Teams Special Edition, which included many of the same TRD options as the TRD Special Edition, such as the same 16-inch alloy wheels (but in a black finish as opposed to the gun-metal grey finish of the TRD model). The Trail Teams Special Edition was also outfitted with BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, TRD/Trail Teams Bilstein shocks, and other TRD-specific options. The number of Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruisers produced each year is as follows: 3,200 units in 2008 (as previously stated); 1,500 in 2010, 2,500 in 2011, 2,500 in 2012, 2,500 in 2013, and 2,500 in 2014.
