Simple to follow oil reset procedure for Pontiac 6000 for the year 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991.
Oil Reset Procedure for Pontiac 6000 for the year 1985 through 1991
1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Press and release the SERVICE REMINDER button until the desired item is displayed.
3. When the desired item is displayed, do not release SERVICE REMINDER button.
4. After button has been pressed for approximately 10 seconds, the service interval mileage display will begin to count down in 500 mile/km intervals.
5. When desired service interval mileage is reached, release button.
6. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position.
2. Press the “SERVICE REMINDER” button until desired item is displayed and hold button for approximately 10 seconds.
3. Interval will begin to count down in 500 mile intervals, when desired interval is reached, release button.
4. Turn ignition off.

About Pontiac 6000
The Pontiac 6000 is a mid-size car produced and marketed by Pontiac from 1982 to 1991 in 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan, and 5-door wagon body styles. The Cutlass Ciera, Buick Century, and Chevrolet Celebrity all shared the front-wheel drive A platform with the 6000.
From 1981 to 1988, the 6000 was manufactured at Oshawa Car Assembly in Ontario, Canada, at Oklahoma City Assembly until production ended, and briefly at North Tarrytown Assembly.The 6000 is discontinued, and the Grand Prix sedan takes its place. Furthermore, the Pontiac 6000 wagon was Pontiac’s final GM-designed station wagon offering before being replaced by the Pontiac Trans Sport in 1990.
