About Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) is the third generation of the C-Class. Mercedes-Benz produced and sold it in sedan/saloon (2007-2014), station wagon/estate (2008-2014), and coupé (2011-2015) bodystyles, with styling by Karlheinz Bauer and Peter Pfeiffer.
The C-Class was available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the latter known as 4MATIC. The E-Class Coupé was also built on the W204 platform (C207).The C 200 Kompressor, C 230, C 280, C 350, C 220 CDI, and C 320 CDI were all sub-models. The C 180 Kompressor, C 230, and C 200 CDI were released in early August 2007. The W204 station wagon was not sold in the United States. The W204 was the brand’s best-selling vehicle at the time, with over 2.4 million units produced worldwide.
The W204 C-Class was developed over a virtual distance of 15 million miles using a “digital prototype,” a 2.1 terabyte digital replica of the car, in the summer of 2003. An industry first, the digital testing allowed for crash testing before a physical prototype existed. The W204 design was completed in 2003, and a German design patent application demonstrating a W204 fiberglass design model was first filed on September 9, 2004. At the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, DaimlerChrysler debuted the W204 C-Class on January 18, 2007. Deliveries began in almost all European countries in late March 2007. (Source: Wiki)
