About Mercedes-Benz G500
Mercedes-Benz introduced the G 500 442 as a continuation of the G 63 AMG 6×6 platform. This model features the body of the long wheelbase 5-door station wagon mounted on a shortened chassis derived from the G 63 AMG 6×6. Along with the G 500 and the G 550, the G500 4×42 was given a brand new 4.0-liter biturbo V8 (M176) engine, which generates 310 kW. (416 hp). Despite the fact that the Mercedes-AMG G 500 4×42 is not a Mercedes-AMG edition, the exterior is identical to that of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and G 65.
Between 1997 and 1998, a total of 38 units of the G43 AMG were manufactured. All of these units were produced in response to special orders placed under the country code “293 Company Vehicle.” The majority of these vehicles were likely intended for VIPs and possibly secret services. Six of them had chassis numbers of 463.233, making it appear as though they were G320 LWBs that had had the type M113.982 V8 engine installed in place of the original V6 engine. Strangely, the remaining 32 units all had the code 463.241 attached to them, which indicated that they were supposed to be G500 LWB models but instead had the AMG 4.3-liter engine M113.982 installed in place of the standard 5-liter engine M113.962.
