Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz G550 for the year 2009
1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
2. Press the system selection button repeatedly until trip and total distance is displayed.
3. Press the forward/back button to display the current service interval.
4. Press and hold instrument cluster illumination button for 3 seconds until “RESET SERVICE INTERVAL, PRESS RESET BUTTON FOR 3s” is displayed.
5. Press and hold button again for 3 seconds until “SERVICE INTERVAL WAS RESET” is displayed.
6. Turn ignition off.
Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz G550 for the year 2010 through 2011
1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
2. Press the system selection button repeatedly until trip and total distance is displayed.
3. Press the forward/back button to display the current service interval.
4. Press and hold instrument cluster illumination button for 3 seconds until “RESET SERVICE INTERVAL, PRESS RESET BUTTON FOR 3s” is displayed.
5. Press and hold button again for 3 seconds until “SERVICE INTERVAL WAS RESET” is displayed.
6. Turn ignition off.
Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz G550 for the year 2012 through 2015
1. ALL DOORS, WINDOWS, HOOD, AND TRUNK MUST BE CLOSED DURING RESET.
2. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
3. Press the down button repeatedly to bring up the kilometer/mileage display.
4. Press the left arrow button repeatedly until “TRIP” is displayed.
5. Press and hold the phone button and then within 1 second, press and hold the “OK” button.
6. Hold both for 5 seconds until “VEHICLE DATA, DYNAMOMETER TEST, CHANGE BRAKE LINING AND ASSYST PLUS” is displayed.
7. Select “ASSYST PLUS” and push “OK” button.
8. Select “FULL SERVICE” and push “OK” button.
9. Select “CONFIRM SERV” and push “OK” button.
10. Select “OIL QUAL. 229.3” or “OIL QUAL. 229.5” and push “OK” button.
11. Select “YES” and push “OK” button. Select “CONFIRMATION” and push “OK” button, “FULL SERVICE CARRIED OUT” will be displayed.
12. Press “OK” button and then press the “BACK” button repeatedly to exit the menu.
13. Turn ignition off.
About Mercedes-Benz G550
The G-Wagen is easily recognizable thanks to its squared-off appearance and body-on-frame construction. It is one of the few passenger car vehicles that can boast having such a feature and uses three differentials that are fully locked.
Even though the Mercedes-Benz G-Class was supposed to be replaced in 2006 by the unibody SUV version of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, production of the G-Class has continued uninterrupted for the past 43 years, making it one of the vehicles with the longest production run in Daimler’s history. It is only surpassed in capability by the Unimog. Mercedes-Benz introduced a technically new second generation in 2018, but the exterior design did not significantly shift in any way.
The 5.0-liter engine that produced 218 kW (292 hp) and was found in the 2008 G500 has been replaced by a 5.5-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 382 hp in the 2009 G550. This engine is mated to a 722.9 7spd transmission. The new engine will allow the new G550 to accelerate more quickly than before.
Mercedes-Benz celebrated its 30th anniversary of production by releasing two unique anniversary editions of their vehicles. One of them was the G 500/G 550, which featured an even more luxurious interior along with unique designo leather upholstery and individualized decals. Another new model was a utility vehicle called the G 280 CDI Edition 30 PUR. It featured a W461 chassis, a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine (OM 642 DE LA red. ), and a W463 four-wheel-drive system.
