About Lexus IS 350 AWD
The IS F Sport models come standard with Adaptive Variable Suspension and Variable Gear Ratio Steering, which contribute to improved handling and performance (IS 350). Not only do the F Sport models handle differently, but they also have a more aggressive style than the base production models in order to differentiate themselves from those models. F-Sport styling features include an edition-specific F-Sport pattern front grille, F-Sport logo badges, and five spoke split graphite wheels.
The cabin features carbon fiber-like trim, extra bolstered performance seats, an all-black headliner, and a moving vessel gauge cluster (inspired by the Lexus LFA) that displays navigation and audio information. The exterior of the F-Sport models is finished in an edition-specific Ultra White, and the interior is finished in Rioja Red. Additionally, the IS F Sport lineup became the first to feature all-wheel drive for the 2014 model year, which was also the first year it was available.
Midway through 2013, international models became available for purchase. The IS 250 RWD, IS 250 AWD, IS 300h, and IS 350 RWD were among the first models produced by Lexus. The hybrid IS 300h model is currently available in select international markets, including Europe and Japan.
On June 28, 2013, the models for the United States went on sale as vehicles for the 2014 model year.
The IS 250 RWD, IS 250 AWD, IS 350 RWD, and IS 350 AWD are some of the earlier models. In 2015, the IS 250 was phased out and replaced by the IS 200t, which only has rear-wheel drive. This change occurred for the 2016 model year. The IS 300 is only available with all-wheel drive, whereas the IS 350, which is the top-of-the-line model, can be ordered with either the rear-wheel drive or the all-wheel drive configuration. In the IS AWD models, the full-time all-wheel drive system is a planetary gearset center differential coupled with a multi-disc clutch that performs the function of a slip limiting device.
This system is used in vehicles with the IS AWD trim level. Under typical driving conditions, the planetary gearset delivers a front-to-rear torque split of 30:70 for handling agility. However, the system is designed to support a front-to-rear torque split of up to 50:50 for the purpose of preventing wheel slip. In August of 2017, for the 2018 model year, the engine that was used in the IS 300 RWD was changed to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that was previously used in the IS 200t, while the engine that was used in the IS 300 AWD remained a 3.5-liter V6 engine.
On May 16, 2013, Japanese models were made available for purchase. The IS 250, the IS 250 AWD, the IS 350, and the IS 300h are some of the early models.
