About Dodge Avenger

Since it was reintroduced to the market in 2008, the Avenger went through its first significant redesign for the 2011 model year. The exterior has been updated with a more streamlined bumper cut design, standard LED combination taillights, and a new crosshair grille that features the new Dodge logo in the bottom right corner of the grille. There have also been some minor revisions made to the sheet metal. The dashboard and instrument panel have been completely redesigned, and they now feature a 6.5-inch navigation/media center screen as an available option. These changes make the interior updates more noticeable. The old materials, which were criticized for their poor fit and finish quality and for being unpleasant to touch, have been replaced with higher-quality soft-touch plastics. These plastics are used for the dashboard, door, and trim panels. The seats have been upgraded to have better cushioning and upholstery of a higher quality. There was a choice of interior color combinations with a two-tone effect.

Mechanically, the 2011 Dodge Avenger came standard with the same 173 hp (129 kW) 2.4 L GEMA I4, but it was now paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, in addition to the option of the previous four-speed transmission. The previous transmission could be selected as an option. Another option was the brand new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which has a power output of 283 horsepower (211 kW) and a torque output of 260 lb-ft (350 Nm). Handling and ride quality were both improved by making adjustments to the suspension. Models are now referred to as Express, Mainstreet, Lux, and Heat instead of their previous trim level designations.

According to the 2013 Made in America Auto Index compiled by the Kogod School of Business at American University, the Dodge Avenger was deemed to be the “Most American Made” sedan. In addition, the Dodge Avenger has an overall rating of 6 out of 10.
