1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position and immediately press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 10 seconds.

2. Turn ignition off.

1. Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has an ignition button, press the ENGINE START STOP button twice without touching the brake pedal

2. Fully depress the GAS PEDAL slowly three times within 10 seconds
Make sure to depress the pedal all the way down

3. Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Repeat this procedure, if the message still illuminates when you start the engine.

About Chrysler Aspen

 

The performance of this sibling of the Dodge Durango is comparable in important respects. The handling is awkward yet secure, and the ride quality is average at best. The Aspen’s interior can be distinguished from that of the Dodge by its use of wood trim and an analog clock. It has three rows of seating for eight people, electronic stability control with roll mitigation, and side curtain airbags for all three rows of seating. An improved 4.7-liter V8 serves as the standard engine. An optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 335 horsepower is also available. However, the Durango with that engine only returned an average of 13 miles per gallon throughout our tests. The front and second rows of seats can be heated, and there is also a DVD entertainment system and navigation system available as optional extras. After 2009, production of the Aspen was terminated.

Compact automobiles such as the Dodge Aspen and the virtually identical Plymouth Volaré were manufactured by both companies between the years 1976 and 1980. The Volaré/Aspen model lineup included automobiles with four doors in the sedan, two doors in the coupe, and four doors in the wagon.

When the Volaré and the Aspen were being manufactured, manufacturers in North America were in the process of “downsizing” their product lines, which meant reducing the size and weight of their vehicles in order to achieve better fuel economy. Due to this factor, the rear-wheel-drive Volaré and the Aspen were initially categorized as compact cars. However, by the time their manufacturing runs came to a conclusion, these vehicles were reclassified as intermediate-sized automobiles.

In the middle of the 1976 model year, the Volaré and Aspen were released. They were the replacements for the Plymouth Valiant/Plymouth Duster and Dodge Dart “A-platform” models from Chrysler Corporation. During the 1976 model year, Chrysler/Plymouth dealerships sold Valiant/Duster models alongside the Volaré, while Dodge shops sold Dart models alongside the Aspen. The Valiant and Dart models were phased out after the 1976 model year.
