1. Turn ignition to the “RUN” position and immediately press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 10 seconds.

About Chrysler Sebring Convertible
The Sebring name was then applied to three distinct vehicles for the 2001 model year. The Sebring coupe was derived from the Mitsubishi Eclipse, while the Sebring sedan and convertible were built on the successors to the Chrysler Cirrus platform using the Chrysler JR. The front end of the Chrysler Sebring 2004 had been updated with some minor changes, including a redesigned grille, reworked headlights, and a Chrysler winged emblem placed in the center on the rear deck. In addition, after the Chrysler Sebring sedan from 2004 had undergone a light cycle refresh, the company decided to stop producing the Chrysler Sebring coupe after the 2005 model year. The Chrysler Sebring was marketed and sold as the Chrysler Cirrus in all international markets besides the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The turbocharged 2.4-liter DOHC engine from Chrysler was available on the Cirrus only and was a model-specific option. Both a sedan and a convertible version of the Cirrus were offered as body styles. On the rear of the vehicle, there is a badge that reads “High Output” for those models that are equipped with this engine. Another feature that was exclusive to the Cirrus was its range of trim levels, which included two for the sedan but only one for the convertible. Each vehicle featured an automatic transmission as standard equipment.
The Sebring model years 2001–2006 received an Acceptable overall rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in frontal crash tests. Models that lacked side airbags received a rating of Poor overall for their performance in the side impact test. Due to Chrysler’s refusal to participate in yet another test, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety did not evaluate the Sebring with side airbags.
The Sebring Convertible received a makeover for the 2001 model year. It was still constructed on the same platform as the sedan, despite the fact that it now bore a striking resemblance to the sedan. A significant number of components, both inside and out, were carried over from the first generation of the vehicle. For the 2004 model year, the Sebring received some minor styling updates, most of which focused on improving the appearance of the front end.
The third-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse served as the basis for the redesign of the Chrysler Sebring Coupe, which debuted for the 2001 model year. As was the case with the previous generation, the coupe, the sedan, and the convertible all shared very little in common with one another, other than the name of the model and a few exterior styling cues that helped market all three vehicles as being variations of the same model.
