Oil Reset Procedure for BMW M6 2006-2015

Easy to follow oil reset procedure for BMW M6 for the year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

BMW M6 oil reset procedure for the year 2006 through 2007.

1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.

2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds. The upper display will be illuminated with a service item. The lower display will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for the service item. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items.

3. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate “OK” or “DUE”.

4. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the “RESET” to appear in the lower display for that service.

5. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.

BMW M6 oil reset procedure for the year 2007 through 2010.

1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.

3. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items.

4. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate “OK” or “DUE”. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the “RESET” to appear in the lower display for that service.

1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.

3. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items.

4. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate “OK” or “DUE”.

5. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the “RESET” to appear in the lower display for that service. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.

BMW M6 oil reset procedure for the year 2014 through 2015.

1. Press the start/stop button once (do not start the engine).

2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until the service indicator light appears.

3. Press the SET/ RESET button repeatedly to scroll the service menu.

4. With the oil change interval highlighted, press and hold the SET/RESET button.

5. When “RESET” appears, release the SET/RESET button and press and hold again.

6. Reset complete when “OK” and new mileage appears.

7. Turn ignition off.

About BMW M6

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series automobile that was sold from 1983 until 2018. It was marketed under the BMW M sub-brand (with a break from 1990 to 2004).

Following its debut in the coupe body style, subsequent generations of the M6 were also produced in the convertible and fastback sedan (also known as the “Gran Coupe”) body styles. Each of the first three generations of the 6 Series was accompanied by the production of an M6 model. In 2019, the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) took the place of the M6, whose production had ended the previous year (in 2018).
