Infiniti G37 2008-2014 Tire Pressure Monitoring System TPMS Reset

Quick to follow procedure on how to reset/relearn the TPMS service maintenance indicator warning light on Infiniti G37 for the year 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014.

A TPMS Tool and OBDII Module, or another properly formatted TPMS scan tool, is required to perform this procedure.

Procedure using a TPMS Tool and OBDII Module

Relearn Procedure when Replacing a Sensor

1. Inflate all tires to the pressure listed on the vehicle placard.
2. Select a vehicle make, model and model year, which has OBDII support, in you TPMS Tool .
3. Select OBDII from your TPMS Tool ’s menu.
4. Starting with the LF tire, use your TPMS Tool to scan each sensor in the following order: LF, RF, RR, LR (and full size spare if equipped).
5. After all sensor ID’s have been stored, use the TPMS Tool ’s ▲ or ▼ button to move the cursor under the letters OBD. Then press the enter button.
6. Turn ignition to the ON position with the engine OFF (not the ACC position).
7. Connect the OBDII Connector to the TPMS Tool then to the vehicle’s OBDII port. Make sure your connection is secure and the green light, on the OBII Module, is on.
8. Select Upload Car IDs, from the TPMS Tool ’s menu, and upload the sensor IDs.
9. When RELEARN COMPLETE / IDs UPLOADED TO CAR is displayed, the ID’s have been successfully uploaded.
10. With the ignition still on, re‐scan each sensor.
11. Drive the vehicle above 30mph for at least 10 minutes and monitor the low tire pressure monitor to ensure it does not blink.

OBDII Errors

If you see an error on the screen while performing an OBDII Relearn, check to make sure that the vehicle is in the ON position (not ACC). Also make sure all the connections are secure.

Errors E1 and E2 ‐ Reading Communication Errors
Make sure vehicle is ON and not ACC Check for secure connection.

Error E4 – Wrong Set Error
Many Lexus vehicles can store more than one set of TPMS ID’s in ECU. Toggle the vehicles selected set to the MAIN set. Then retry OBDII Relearn.

Error E5 ‐ Spare Tire Error
If you receive this error, and you did not upload a sensor ID for the spare, then this vehicle requires a spare. If you did upload a spare, but you received this error, then the vehicle does not store the ID in the ECU for the spare tire.

Procedure using another Properly Formatted Scan Tool

Relearn Procedure when Replacing a Sensor

1. Inflate all tires to the pressure listed on the vehicle placard.
2. Starting with the LF tire, use the scan tool to scan each sensor in the following order: LF, RF, RR, LR (and full size spare if equipped).
3. Turn ignition to the ON position with the engine OFF (not the ACC position).
4. Connect the scan tool to the OBDII port and upload the sensor IDs.
5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. Re‐scan each sensor.
6. Drive the vehicle above 30mph for at least 10 minutes and monitor the low tire pressure monitor to ensure it does not blink.

About Infiniti G37

For the 2009 model the G35 sedan was replaced by the G37 sedan. The G37 sedan was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show for the European market.Exterior, interior and options remain identical to the 2008 G35 model range but the sedan now also sports the 3.7-liter VQ37VHR “VVEL” V6, rated 328 hp (245 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 269 lb⋅ft (365 N⋅m) at 5,200 rpm that was previously introduced in the G37 Coupe. Although the engine gains only 0.2 kg⋅m (2 N⋅m; 1 lb⋅ft) torque over the VQ35HR and this torque value arrives at a later 5,200 rpm vs. 4,800 in the VQ35HR, the torque curve itself is improved and flattened across the rpm range via Nissan’s new VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) variable valve timing resulting in better throttle response and low rpm torque.

The G37s VQ37VHR engine has been touted by car magazines and reviewers as an improvement over the VQ35HR engine mostly adding much more refinement and smoother engine operation, especially at high rpm where the VQ35HR engine was frequently criticized for NVH and sounding strained, harsh and loud.

The often criticized too aggressive clutch engagement, notchiness of the 6-speed manual in the G35 and engine vibrations transferred through the shifter and pedals in the G35 6MT cars was also addressed in the new G37 models. (Source Wiki)
