About Toyota Prius

On the basis of smog-forming emissions, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) rated the Prius as one of the cleanest vehicles sold in the United States in 2007. The 2018 Prius Eco was the second-most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered car without plug-in capability available in the United States that year, trailing only the Hyundai Ioniq Blue hybrid.

The Prius was the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle when it first went on sale in Japan in 1997, and it was available at all four Toyota Japan dealership chains. It was later made available worldwide in 2000. Toyota sells the Prius in over 90 countries, with Japan and the United States being the most important. Global cumulative Prius liftback sales surpassed one million in May 2008, two million in September 2010, and three million in June 2013. By early April 2011, the United States had sold one million units, and Japan had sold one million units by August 2011. With 5 million units sold as of September 2022, the Prius was the world’s best-selling hybrid car. (Source: Wiki)
