About Nissan GT-R
Nissan’s GT-R is a high-performance sports car and grand tourer that debuted in 2007. It is the replacement for the Nissan Skyline GT-R, a high-performance version of the Nissan Skyline. Although this was the sixth-generation GT-R, it is no longer part of the Nissan Skyline lineup because that name is now reserved for Nissan’s luxury-sport vehicles. The GT-R is built on the GT-own R’s PM platform, which evolved from the FM platform used in the separate Nissan Skyline luxury car and the Nissan Z sports car. The GT-R abbreviation is derived from the Skyline GT-R and stands for Gran Turismo-Racing.
Nissan updated the GT-R in 2009 for the 2010 model year, increasing engine power output to 485 PS (357 kW; 478 hp) at 6,400 rpm. While there was no increase in engine torque, the launch control system was reprogrammed to reduce stress in the transaxle, and the modification was also available for previously sold 2009 models. Other enhancements included retuned suspension, updated wheel finish, standard front seat and side curtain air bags, and a redesigned interior. (Source: Wiki)
