About Mercury Sable
For the 2008 model year, Mercury introduced the fifth-generation Sable. The production vehicle, developed as a mid-cycle update to the Mercury Montego, revived the more widely recognized Sable nameplate at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show. While the 2008 revival of the Ford Taurus (renamed the Five Hundred) effectively ended retail sales of the Crown Victoria, the Sable remained in the Mercury lineup below the Grand Marquis.
