Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz ML500 for the year 2002 through 2004

1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 2” and immediately press knob to left of speedometer twice within 1 second, present status for days or distance will be displayed.

2. Within 10 seconds, turn ignition to “POSITION 0”.

3. Press and hold button to left os speedometer and turn ignition to “POSITION 2”, present status for days or distance will be displayed again.

4. Continue to hold button until a sound is heard.

5. Release button, reset service interval will be displayed.

6. Turn ignition off.

Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz ML500 for the year 2001 through 2005

1. Switch ignition on and immediately press knob to left of speedometer twice within 1 second.

2. Present status for days or distance is now displayed.

3. Within 10 seconds, turn key in steering wheel lock to position 0.

4. Press and hold button to the left of speedometer, while turning key in steering lock to position 2 again.

5. The present status for days or distance is displayed again.

6. Continue to hold button until you hear a signal.

7. Release button.

8. The service interval should now display the reset interval.

1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.

2. Press the system selection button repeatedly until odometer is displayed.

3. Press the cluster illumination button 3 times, battery voltage will be displayed.

4. Press the up or down buttons until service menu is displayed.

5. Press the “+/-” buttons to select “CONFIRM”.

6. Press the system selection button repeatedly until “COMPLETE SERVICE” is selected, confirm with system selection button, “SERVICE CONFIRMED” will be displayed.

7. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.

2. Press the system selection button repeatedly until odometer is displayed.

About Mercedes-Benz ML500

In 2001, in preparation for the 2002 model year, Mercedes-Benz revised and modernized the W163. The styling was updated by installing new headlamp lenses and taillamp lenses, front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels on most of the variants, relocating the side turn signals from the fenders to the side-view mirrors, and making various changes to the interior trim. All of these modifications were made. At the same time, the ML 430 was succeeded by the ML 500, which is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, and a brand-new ML 400 CDI with a 4.0-liter V8 turbodiesel engine became available in Europe. The following year, in 2002, Mercedes-Benz introduced the ML 350, which featured a V6 engine displacing 3.7 liters and was equipped with all-wheel drive. In some markets, the ML 350 took the place of the ML 320, while in others it served as a complementary model.
