About Mercedes-Benz CLK320

The CLK 320 Coupé debuted for the 1997 model year, and it was equipped with a 3.2 L V6 engine that was capable of producing 218 PS (160 kW; 215 bhp). 1998 saw the debut of the CLK GTR FIA GT1 racing car, which was equipped with a 5.9-liter V12 engine; a total of 25 road-legal CLK GTRs were produced. 1999 saw the release of both the CLK 430 Cabriolet and the CLK 430, which was powered by an M113 4.3 L V8 and produced 279 PS (205 kW; 275 bhp). Every model was offered in a two-door coupe as well as a convertible version.

Late in the year 1999, for the 2000 model year, a facelift was introduced, which among other things included a redesigned instrument cluster with a larger multifunction display, a steering wheel with controls for the multifunction display and the radio, a Tiptronic automatic gearbox, revised bumpers, and new side skirts. In 2001, for the model year 2002, turn signals that were mounted on the wing mirrors were first introduced.

A “Sport Package” was available for the CLK 430 in the United States. This package gave the CLK 430 the exterior styling of the more powerful CLK 55 AMG, as well as the same wheels and tires as its AMG counterpart (see section “CLK 55 AMG”). Because of this, it was able to achieve a maximum lateral acceleration of 0.83Gs and a speed of 66.5 mph during the slalom run.
