About Mercedes-Benz C320
Following the success of the AMG models in the previous generation, Mercedes-Benz made an effort to boost sales among high-end buyers by introducing two distinct AMG versions of the new model in the year 2001. This was done in an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the AMG models. The C 32 AMG went back to a 3.2-liter V6 engine with a twin-screw type supercharger (manufactured by IHI) in order to achieve 260 kW (354 PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. This was done in order to match the displacement of the BMW E46 M3 and improve the weight distribution. It utilized a five-speed automatic transmission, just like its predecessors did, which enabled it to complete the sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in 5.2 seconds. Although the C 32 was primarily offered as a sedan, a small number of C 32 station wagons were manufactured for a select number of markets. The C 32 AMG Sportcoupe was only available to customers who placed an order with the AMG STUDIO in 2003, and the exact production numbers are unknown.
