About BMW 750xi
The 2022 BMW 7-Series is a full-size luxury sedan with plenty of power—and even more available. The 7-Series has long been known for its attention to detail and spirited driving performance, and the latest model is no exception.
The 7-Series remains largely unchanged for 2022, though BMW’s available V-12 engine may be phased out. The 7-Series lineup ranges from the 335-horsepower 740i to the 600-horsepower Alpina B7. There isn’t a slow one in the bunch, and nearly all come standard with all-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid 745e also has some electric-only driving capability.
In contrast to previous 7-Series models, the new lineup has a single, rather long body. There’s plenty of space for all five occupants, though a four-seater option is available.
The 7-Series is not known for its fuel efficiency. Even the plug-in hybrid gets only 22 mpg combined. With rear-wheel drive, the 740i achieves 22 mpg city, 29 highway, 25 combined, or 20/27/23 mpg with all-wheel drive. The 750i sedans have more power and consume more fuel: 19 mpg, which is the same as the Alpina B7. At 16 mpg, the V-12-powered M760i is extremely thirsty.
On the other hand, every 7-Series is loaded with safety technology. While no crash tests have been conducted, these large sedans will do an excellent job of avoiding collisions thanks to standard automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, and adaptive LED headlights. An advanced adaptive cruise control system is available, which can switch lanes with a turn-signal tap and stop and move the car ahead in traffic with minimal driver input.
