BMW 328xi oil reset procedure for the year 2008-2013
1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds. The upper display will be illuminated with a service item. The lower display will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for the service item. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items.
3. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate “OK” or “DUE”. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the “RESET” to appear in the lower display for that service. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.
4. Turn ignition off.

1. Press the start/stop button once (do not start the engine).
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until the service indicator light appears.
3. Press the SET/ RESET button repeatedly to scroll the service menu.
4. With the oil change interval highlighted, press and hold the SET/RESET button.
5. When “RESET” appears, release the SET/RESET button and press and hold again.
6. Reset complete when “OK” and new mileage appears.
7. Turn ignition off.

Four-wheel-drive sedans are contentious vehicles. Their customers are divided into two groups: snow-phobic drivers (who would rather cane their car in the rain than leave home without their wallet) and pistonheads (intent on boldly hooning where no front or rear wheel-driver would hoon before). Of course, pistonheads appreciate the extra snow-and-go seating, but they are concerned that the four-wheel-drive gizmo will add weight and reduce steering feel. So, does the BMW 328xi coupe satisfy both groups, avoiding the dynamic bullet while pampering the paranoid?
The 328xi two-door coupe looks exactly like the regular 3er coupe. Despite the criticism leveled at Chris Bangle’s flame-broiled designs, the 3 coupe represents a welcome return to boring Bimmers. This isn’t just a car you could drive home to your mother; it’s your mother’s 40th anniversary gift.
However, the front of the 328xi is busier than Dick Cheney’s cardiologist, with grilles below air dams below the bumpers. While the design is not completely incoherent, I wonder how all that low-hanging plastic will fare in snow-covered parking lots at Neiman Marcus. The swage line running the length of the coupe is sharp enough to draw blood, so Ladies Who Lunch must be careful when opening the door.
The 328xi has a beautiful profile, but if you’ve seen the 6-Series, you’ve already seen it. The 3’s ghetto fabulous booty is sufficiently capacious for lifestyle load carriers. It can accommodate a set of weekend bags for empty nesters visiting their offspring on the weekend. BMW even includes the hinges for folding rear seats at no cost with the coupe, allowing your oddly shaped belongings to protrude into the cabin.
