About Dodge Durango

At the 2013 New York International Auto Show, Dodge presented its updated 2014 Durango model. The 2014 Dodge Durango was revamped with sharper looks, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a new design trim with a blackened plastic bumper and outline, similar to the Rallye. Similar to the Charger and Dart, the taillights were redesigned to include a single LED ‘Racetrack’ tail bulb. Dodge updated the interior with a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, rotary shift knob, and a programmable 20-inch (510-mm) thin film transistor display similar to the Dart.

The 2015 Durango received a new Premium Nappa Leather Group option for the R/T trim, which included radar red leather seats, a 0.8-inch lower ride height (20 mm), black headlamp bezels, HID low beams and LED DRL’S, optional R/T embroidery on the seats, a nine-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, a 360 hp (268 kW) 5.7 L Hemi paired with ZF’s eight-speed

The 2022 Dodge Durango is one of the few three-row SUVs that exudes machismo. Its V-8 engine, which is optional, provides the muscle to back up its look. The Durango comes standard with a V-6 engine that produces adequate power and has a towing capacity that exceeds that of most competitors. Three rows of seats provide enough space for the entire family, albeit the rearmost row will only be suitable for children. The Dodge Durango has enough modern infotainment technology to win the Geek Squad’s hearts, but customers looking for driver-assistance technologies will have to spend extra, unlike rivals like the Kia Telluride and Toyota Highlander, which come standard. Those crossovers, on the other hand, lack the Durango’s muscle-car aura, making it a one-of-a-kind pick in this class.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, roof rails, and the formerly optional third row of seats are now standard on the base Durango SXT for 2022. Remote start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power-operated rear liftgate all included on the GT variant. Memory settings for the driver, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a scuff plate for the rear cargo area, leather-and-suede upholstery, and heated rear seats are now standard on the GT Plus. Nappa leather with contrast stitching, a sunroof, an advanced autonomous emergency braking system, and a Harman/Kardon sound system are among the features of the top-spec R/T Plus model. The vented hood from the Durango SRT 392 is now available on GT and R/T models with the optional Blacktop package.

The mid-range GT model offers the best value, and we’d choose for the regular V-6 engine over the thirstier V-8. After all, the Durango SRT or the limited-edition Durango SRT Hellcat (both reviewed separately) are more likely to please if you’re seeking for a performance SUV. However, we’d like to upgrade from the standard 8.4-inch infotainment system to the new 10.1-inch system, which costs $995 on the GT model and includes in-dash navigation as well as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
