About Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG
The Mercedes-Benz W220 was a line of flagship sedans that replaced the W140 S-Class as the fourth generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class after model year 1998, with long and short wheelbase versions, performance and luxury options, available four-wheel drive, and a variety of diesel, gas/petrol V6, V8, and V12 engines. The W220 had slightly smaller exterior dimensions than its predecessor but offered more interior volume, particularly in long-wheelbase versions, and slightly less cargo volume.
Bruno Sacco designed the four-door saloon (sedan) body, which is powered by a front-mounted engine that sends power to the rear wheels. The Mercedes-Benz S 55 AMG is a member of Mercedes-W Benz’s 220 model family. It is powered by a 5.4-liter naturally aspirated engine. This engine has a single overhead camshaft valve gear, a 90-degree V-8 cylinder layout, and three valves per cylinder. It produces 355 bhp (360 PS/265 kW) of power at 5500 rpm and 530 Nm (391 lbft/54 kgm) of torque at 3150-4500 rpm. The engine sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. The kerb weight claimed is 1855 kg. It is claimed to have a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), with official fuel consumption figures of 19.8/9.5/13.4 l/100km urban/extra-urban/combined.
